THPF promotes reading in educational institutions

BANGKOK, 21 May 2013 (NNT) – The Thai Health Promotion Foundation (THPF) yesterday organized a seminar to promote reading in educational institutions.
The seminar, the second of its kind following a successful one last year, was held under the theme “Reading generates motivation”.
The seminar was jointly hosted by the THPF, the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) of the Education Ministry, the Vocational Education Commission, the Department of Local Administration, and the Education Department of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
THPF Director General Krissada Rueng-Areerat (กฤษดา เรืองอารีย์รัชต์) presided over the opening of the seminar, which was joined in the panel of speakers by Mr. Ruangsak Pinprateep (เรืองศักดิ์ ปิ่นประทีป) from the Books for Children Foundation , Mr. Thawara or ‘Dr. Pop’ Siripat (ฐาวรา สิริพิพัฒน์), author of ‘The White Road’, and Ms. Padcha Anek-Ayuwat (พัดชา อเนกอายุวัฒน์) from the Academy Fantasia in her capacity as a representative of new generation readers.
The seminar was aimed at initiating, experimenting and researching for the best method in encouraging reading as a means to stimulate learning in schools.
